Top Five Cocktail Bars

It’s that time of year where it’s ok to apply as much sparkle as you want, get dolled up to the nines and head out to a fancy cocktail bar with your friends; and we’ve got a fair few goodies to choose from! Muddy Stilettos contributor Maddie Morgan, has rounded up her top 5 places to spend a brilliant night quaffing cocktails!

Haycock and Tailbar

Calling themselves a ‘cocktail and supper room’ Haycock and Tailbar is the perfect mix of good food and marvellous drinky poos (Muddy Ed has been trying to get in for a while, maybe 2017 will be her lucky year ; )

With a large selection of cocktails, this is a great place to try something new and enjoy a fantastic steak if you fancy. The team claim to be happy to hear about your likes and dislikes, so your opinion is always welcome, plus if there’s something you want that’s not on the menu, they’re always open to suggestions and will try their best to recreate the cocktail of your dreams!

Sazerac

A sometimes sophisticated cocktail bar (depends on the evening) located in the heart of St Giles Quarter in Northampton. With a quirky design of multi-rooms, this cocktail bar allows its guests to either relax in the lounge, or dance like no one’s watching in their ‘Back Room Club’ to the music of their top DJs. They also offer a cocktail master class, so if you fancy your hand at cocktail making then get yourself to Sazerac with a group of girlies for a fun and exciting lesson in the art of le cocktail (leave the car at home)!

White Truffle

White Truffle is an exclusive cocktail bar and restaurant that serves fantastic food and gorgeous drinks to its guests, in a stylish environment. Created by ‘master mixologists’ they offer never seen before drinks with the inclusion of unusual herbs and spices all put together to give a unique mix of flavours and textures! Also providing food, White Truffle serves a large mix of dishes created with locally sourced produce to top off a perfect cocktail night!

Malt and Bass

Priding themselves on being quirky and original, Corby based Malt and Bass really live up to that expectation! With a gorgeous yet interesting interior and an unbelievable selection of fascinating cocktails Malt and Bass really will exceed your expectations. They aim to let you enjoy the classic relaxed environment of a bar, paired with awe- inspiring flavours, with spectacular looking drinks! They claim to begin from the appearance of the drink and work backwards to the taste, allowing them to come up with some fab designs! Just the best mix of quirky and fun!

AU-RA

This fabulously modern and sophisticated venue offers you the chance to sit back and relax in a private booth whilst a waiter brings you and your friends the drinks of your choice! They offer a variety of cocktails ranging from the classic cocktails we all know and love to the ones designed by in-house staff. They provide a good mix of relaxation and fun, with more intimate, private booths to seating areas right by the dance floor, so a boogie is never far away! They cater to groups of all sizes so there’s nothing they can’t handle when you fancy a fantastic night out with a brilliant chance to try something new!
