Mother Tripper, an established Northamptonshire blogger shares her favourite things to do with little ones in Northants this Autumn.

With the drop in temperature and crispy leaves the first thing I look forward to in Autumn is Halloween! We are lucky in Northamptonshire to have some of the best Halloween themed days out. But before the arrival of Halloween, my favourite thing about autumn has got to be the walks, and the welcome return of hot chocolates!

Irchester Country park
Our favourite autumn walk is around Irchester Country Park, the trees give all the feels that winter is on its way. You can go off the beaten track and let the kids and dogs run wild up and down the hills. Take a puddle suit to splash amongst the puddles and the best part of Irchester? Well, for kids who need encouragement on a walk, there is plenty along the way. Irchester has some very good play areas dotted around the park including dinosaur themed, look outs over the quarry and an eagle slide. Pay to park for a cheap and fun day out for all the family.

Evenley Wood Garden
If you follow my page you will know how much I love this place. It is simply exquisite. Spring, summer, autumn and winter the gardens are magical. The stream is a welcome splash any time of year. In autumn you can expect leaf throwing, muddy wellies, and letting the kids play with the natural materials. You can pack a picnic and use the tables dotted around or visit the cosy café with the twinkly lights and smell of the log burner.

Stanwick Lakes
Another pay for parking only day out, you could easily spend hours here. Once parked you can explore left or right and both ways take you to interactive walks. Turn left and follow the paths to a huge obstacle course, ideal for older children. Or turn right and follow a walk incorporating nature mixed with fun for kids. You will find a tree house look out, climbing, zip wires and netted river crossings. Finish with a great size play area with sand and water play.
