THE SILVERSTONE MUSEUM #ONTRACK! 

1-16 APRIL

Silverstone Museum is bringing two iconic British brands together this Easter with the launch of the brilliant new Scalextric On Track! exhibit, which opens April 1 and runs until April 16. 

As well as recreating the track, the special Scalextric set features architectural elements including grandstands and the Silverstone Wing, pit garages and the pit lane.  The Scalextric set will be a highlight of the exhibit and, throughout the Easter period, the museum will also feature a range of full size cars on display alongside their Scalextric versions. Some of these cars have never been seen at the museum before, including Damon Hill’s Williams FW16B-07, a Ford Lotus Cortina, Honda Civic Type R and a Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth.

EASTER AT DELAPRE ABBEY

7-10 APRIL

Hop along to Delapré Abbey for an annual Easter Eggstravaganza from 7-10 April. Can you find the eight decorated eggs that have been hidden in the Walled Garden? Follow the trail and match the patterns to your bingo card to win a chocolate prize (plus dairy free options available). 

In addition, the house will be open on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday, from 11am until 4pm. Other activities happening over the Easter period include:

Spring Wreath Making Workshops for adults on Monday 3 and Tuesday 4 April, 10am and 2pm. The Abbey is also hosting a special Spring Wreath Making Workshop for children at 10am on Sunday 2nd April. During these sessions, you will learn the art of making a wreath from scratch using natural materials sourced from the grounds of Delapré Abbey.

Stable Yard Vintage sale, Sunday 2 April, 10am-2pm. Pick up unique vintage and antique homeware. All funds raised will go towards the Stable Block Project to restore and repurpose the 19th Century Stables. 

Preacher the Storyteller will be at the Abbey on Wednesday 12 April, inviting the public to enjoy Egg Hunt: Legend of Candor the Last Dragon. This storytelling adventure is accompanied by games, dancing, prizes and goodie bags.

EASTER BONNETS AT WICKSTEED PARK

1-17 APRIL

Get your bonnets ready for Wicksteed Park’s Easter Eggstravaganza! Hop around the park and find your favourite rides.

Want some extra fun? Join the Easter Egg hunt and be in with a chance to win a delicious treat, as well as an amazing prize for one lucky winner; to feed the Meerkats!

The Park hosts their Easter Eggstravaganza April 1-17.

BOUNCING BUNNY HUNT AT EVENLEY WOOD GARDEN

3-10 APRIL

Join us for our annual Easter Hunts around the garden. Collect your map and follow the arrows to find our Easter friends around the garden. Once completed collect your Easter treat from the Easter bunny.

We have also hidden one golden egg in the garden. Find the elusive golden egg to claim the giant chocolate egg.

EASTER HOUSE OPENING DEENE PARK

9-10 APRIL

Join us on Easter Sunday & Monday for lots of egg-citement as you explore the House & Gardens and Easter Egg Trail. Collect an activity sheet when you arrive and begin exploring the formal gardens in search of the eggs in our Easter Egg Trail. Find the letter on each egg and uncover the secret Easter word, then collect your prize from our gift shop.

The Easter Bunny will also be on the hunt for eggs so make sure you stop and say hello, and our friends from Just Karen will be in the garden doing storytelling and bubble displays.

The House will also be open from 2 pm. Visitors who purchase a House and Garden ticket can explore the house on a self-guided free flow tour with volunteer room guides on hand to explain the history of the house and the Brudenell family.

BOUGHTON HOUSE OPEN GARDENS & THEMED HOUSE TOURS

EASTER FUN AT ROCKINGHAM CASTLE

9-10 APRIL

Visit Rockingham Castle this April for lots of Easter Fun.

Collect your leaflet and start exploring the Gardens to seek out the Easter Trail. Don’t forget, once you’ve completed your booklet, you can collect your Easter Egg.

Billy The Bunny will also be joining us around the gardens, make sure you say hello!

Delicious refreshments will be served on site, with stunning views across the Welland Valley, perfect for picnics.

The Castle will also be open throughout the day to explore.

THE MAGIC OF EASTER AT HOLDENBY

9-10 APRIL

Hop! to Holdenby House for a Magical Easter Weekend. With the help of Alice in Wonderland, we are laying the trail for the Easter Egg Hunt in the historic gardens and each day Alice will hide her Golden Egg, containing £100. Her friends will be on hand with activities for all to enjoy from, Egg Painting, Egg Rolling, Face Painting, traditional Fete Games, Croquet on the lawn or shopping at the Easter Market Stalls.

Alice loves the animals and birds at Icarus Falconry Centre where you will be able to enjoy the magnificent collection of eagles, falcons, hawks, owls, and vultures and experience flying displays on the lawn. 

Also, although the growing wildlife wing does not have a March Hare you will be able to meet Roxy the Fox, Norma the Hedgehog and Kit & Kat the Polecats along with other fascinating wildlife members.

The House itself, now the home to the Lowther family and once the largest house in England and the Palace of Charles I, will be open on Easter Monday 12-3 pm (last entry 2.30 pm) so that everyone can enjoy the magnificent historic interiors.

After all that activity, Alice will not be the only one enjoying the delicious delights of The Old Stableyard Food Court where you will be able to enjoy wonderful tea and cake at the new Holdenby Tearoom or delicious pizza from Serious Dough, burgers from Savannah Fayre, crepes by The Biscuiterie and ice cream from The Horsebox and Ganders Goat.

LAMBING AT CHESTER HOUSE ESTATE

NOW UNTIL 1 MAY

Families can visit and bottle feed the lambs as part of the estate’s spring activities, which also include an Easter egg hunt and a chocolate lolly making workshop.

This year Chester House Estate is looking after a local farmer’s cade lambs; lambs that cannot be fed by their mums and need help to survive and thrive. 

The Estate’s team expect to go through 10,000 litres of formula, and each bottle will be heated to body temperature, with the lambs fed morning, noon and night.

Visit and feed the lambs at weekends and during the school holidays from now to 1 May 2023.

MAKE AN EASTER BUNNY AT SULGRAVE MANOR

EASTER EGG HUNT AT CANONS ASHBY

5-10 APRIL

Make your way along the trail and find nature inspired activities for the whole family. The trail takes place between Wednesday 5 April and Monday 10 April, from 10am to 4pm, with last entry at 4pm, so come along and explore the beautiful natural green spaces of Canons Ashby.

EASTER TRAIL & CRAFTS AT STANWICK LAKES

31 MARCH - 16 APRIL

Animal themed trail and Easter crafts from 31st March. At Stanwick Lakes this Easter the animal trail is complemented by Easter crafts and activities, seven miles of path to explore, adventure trail, cycle hire and more.

KINKY BOOTS AT THE CORE AT CORBY CUBE

Following their triumphant debut performance at the Core Theatre with their acclaimed production of Fiddler on the Roof, Rutland Musical Theatre present the hilariously heart-warming and hugely popular Kinky Boots! Based on the 2005 British film Kinky Boots, the musical tells the story of Charlie Price. Having inherited a shoe factory in Northampton from his father which is on the verge of bankruptcy, Charlie forms an unlikely partnership with cabaret performer and drag queen Lola to produce a line of high-heeled boots and save the business. In the process, Charlie and Lola discover that they are not so different after all.
