The GUS Band

The GUS Band

The GUS Band (charity 1170993) is the Midlands’ premier championship standard brass band based in Northampton. Over the past 10 years the band has performed at the highest level in concerts and competitions all over the country representing the region at the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain on no less than 9 occasions.

These successes are not new, just the latest chapter in a long and colourful history. Established in January 1933 the then Munn & Felton Works Band were soon Champions of Great Britain; and on many occasions since, the Midlanders have dented Northern pride (traditionally the home of banding), by winning no less than six national titles, the British Open Championships and being proclaimed World Champions.
