The Stahl Theatre is a centre of theatrical activity serving Oundle School, the town of Oundle and the surrounding region. The 264-seat Stahl theatre is situated on West Street in the heart of Oundle town. This attractive chapel building was converted into a theatre commemorating the generous bequest of Rudolphe Stahl (OO). It opened its doors to the public in March 1980. Here at the Stahl we pride ourselves in programming the very highest quality School productions alongside the some of the country’s leading touring theatre companies. Last season saw visits from Out of Joint, Paines Plough, New Perspectives and Eastern Angles. The varied programme of work caters for a broad range of theatrical tastes, ticket prices are kept competitively low and all performances are open to everyone. An integral part of the Stahl’s ethos is that our pupils gain a professional experience of theatre; professional work inspires their own practice and a professional technical team supports all School productions. As well as the Director of the Stahl, this team includes three full-time technicians, a costume supervisor and a box office manager.
